Who was your client?
Aaron’s parents Joanne and Leng Ly were our clients.
How did you get your job?
Aaron asked his parents and they agreed to give us jobs to perform.
Did you deal with the client directly?
Unlike our first client project, we did not directly communicate with our client. This time, Aaron was the one who communicated with his parents and directly told us what to do for the website.
Was there some sort of compensation?
The compensation was 3 hours of community service.
What was your role?
My role was to design the Start- Up page for the website.
Did you act professionally?
We worked professionally on the website but had a bit of fun on it since his parents said we could put anything on as long as it wasn’t illegal or would insult anyone.
Did your client act professionally?
They were serious and professional in making sure we had their specific instructions but were lenient on the other “fun” areas we did.
Describe the work you did.
My job was to create the start-up page; the page that people look at when they first open the website. I made a short introduction to appeal the customers in and then posts some donut puns.
Describe your creative process.
I made the start-up page a poem like introduction as I took inspiration from the Willy Wonka Nerds candy. They have a poem on the back of their product which I took inspiration from. Also, I did the punny pictures to create an environment of happiness.
How often did you communicate with your client?
Not often, only Aaron really communicated with them.
Did you have regular meetings to look over proofs or progress of work?
No, but we did overlook each other works to correct and offer better solutions to the each other in order to make the website better.
Were you able to meet the deadline?
Yes, we were able to meet the deadline.
What was the feedback from your client?
They said they found the website funny and they liked how clear the images were.
Did your client require changes?
No, they found the website suitable and are currently using it as their official website as they really liked it.
What was your favorite part working with the client?
The communication that we had provided us with more freedom. This let us have more creative ideas and it provided us me an experience of working with limited information.
What was your least favorite part working with the client?
My least favorite part was the lack of information the client provided us. They really did not have much specific things they wanted us to do but I still enjoyed making the website.
Would you do anything differently?
Yes, I would probably ask for more information to implent as the website is a bit lacking in information. Furthermore, it can probably have an entire change in background.
What did you learn from this experience?
I learned that with less communication, I could do more with the website. I had more freedom to do what I wanted and thus, lead me to do more things I wanted on the website. This, to me, is actually a very effective way to work and I found I prefer this method over the constant meetings that we had with Anthony’s parents.
